Franny Tacy was born in Nashville, TN to a banker (mother) and a cattle farmer (father). Little did Franny know how much her parents’ professions would influence her career. With an extensive education in forestry, Education MA and research work with the Smithsonian Institute, Franny continued her aim of helping people with a pivot to pharmaceutical sales, managing a $10M territory and ranking in the top 10% of her company for over a decade. That success allowed Franny to find her way back to her passion for acreage and the homestead life. In 2017, Franny saw an opportunity to be a part of a Hemp and CBD farm pilot program. Ignoring critics and trusting her gut, she “leaped before she looked... and is now one of the preeminent experts in the US Hemp industry” (PBS). She is the first female farmer to grow Hemp in North Carolina.
